Thanks for the mention! The other point about agri/food commodities is they are less liable to global growth hype vs despair swings (vs say crude oil or base metals), so they basically give you a sort of true underlying sense of what is happening with commodity prices (and hence inflation in general).

Great piece, David. Unfortunately, I think what's coming will make the 1970s and 80s famine in Africa seem like child's play.

Excellent explanation Re: how decades of price suppression of gold is connected to the oncoming food price inflation. I had never really thought of the two in this way before.

I’ll venture to add the next step. The rotation into tangible commodities, especially precious metals, will also help worsen the oncoming crash in home prices. Food comes first. With food, and energy (oil, gas and uranium are commodities that will also be affected) prices skyrocketing, many homeowners -particularly those who bought at the peak or who “dated the rate” that never went down - will be overly stretched. They’ll be forced to sell into increasingly competitive and overbuilt markets. Bad for them, but good for the wise who saved, accumulated metals md commodities stocks, and will be out looking for bargains (assuming they can get insurance in jurisdictions with reasonable property taxes? May be a tall order as more jurisdictions will be jacking taxes on the remaining owners to make up for falling property values. Looks like it’s gonna create a daisy chain of clusters on just about everybody unless prices fall so dramatically that investors can afford to rent at affordable levels, taking food and fuel inflation into account. I could see this going all the way to an “Ice Nine” type of situation with all the Western nations falling except for the few at the top who control the systems as well as the gold. Fun times ahead?)

Food banks in Canada are already overrun.

All comes back to Housing prices, Australia and Canada are identical with insane housing prices. There is no money left over for most workers as it all goes to rent or the mortgage. How long can it go on for, it just never ends as they keep pumping immigration.

This video below is a good one about Sydney, which is now 1.6m medium house price.

It all comes back to debt currency expansion by the central bankers / central destroyers.

Bubbles everywhere.

Totally Agree, but housing is the main vehicle the bankers use to create huge profits. Housing is where the greed really is, housing has now moved from being a pillar of society and security for families to an investment vehicle and it has completely changed society's foundations. It was a foundation in Maslow's hierarchy of needs and this is gone now.

We don't have mum and dad banks no more after the deregulation which now allows commercial and investment banks to mix which is when all the troubles started a few decades back.

When i was in Portugal last year, i met many young Canadian worker's who had been forced to leave and they were angry and bitter at Canada. The young have no hope in the current climate.

Agriculture-similar to oil exploration- does need investment if one wants to harvest in coming months. Food inflation hitting poor countries first. Here in Germany one can buy only items on special offer or even reduced items. Shopping carts looking emptier.

I am in Australia, meat is up about 300%. The trip to the supermarket seems 2 to 3 times more expensive. Fuel still OK. We are having an accommodation crisis in our city, almost impossible to get a roof over your head, open borders immigration.

The agenda is coordinated by the demonic entities. The new attempted scamdemic (bird flu) which has minor objectives such as pumping USA federal debt money into Big Pharma mRNA poisons which further create disabling problems for the brain dead, has a primary objective of making the quality protein from poultry and eggs unaffordable in the USA. I live out in the campo of SW Mexico and have a variety of finches who propagate on parts of my cottage. I have yet to see a dead adult bird here. My theory is that the Bird Flu virus never applied for their passports and are stopped at the Rio Grande from proceeding southbound.

Expand full comment

No bird flu in Mexico. Eggs are $2 per dozen.

Bird flu is a total hoax just like the Convid virus. It objective is for the Feds to pay poultry farmers compensation for exterminating their flocks. If the virus were real, the sensible thing to have done was just ignore the infections and let the chicken population survivors pass on their natural immunity. But it is not real. I was a chemist, and the rt-PCR "tests" are also a valid as a magic 8 ball.

PCR testing at 35 cycles is a joke.

PCR testing at any cycles is a joke. Not to put a long winded chemical explanation here, I just recommend that one finds out through checking the writings or videos of the late chemist Kary Mullis who won the Nobel Prize in chemistry in the early 90's for his invention of the PCR technique and lambasted Fauci for using it in his first campaign regarding HIV which murdered hundreds of thousands of gay men. I also highly recommend his book, Dancing Naked in the Mind a Field. Amazing well written for chemist :-)

PS In my part of Mexico, price inflation of foodstuff including meat and poultry has been moderate, at least so far. I am on a paleo diet and I pay USD 10 per kg for lean grass fed beef. Organic eggs are USD 4.50 a dozen with factory eggs at about half of that.

Nice. Paleo is excellent.
